Road Trip out West

2016 started with a bang, and I found myself in California on the first day of the new year. I booked a one-way flight and was in LA by noon.

By nightfall we were in Las Vegas. Day 2 was spent exploring the city.

Midday we headed eastward in Nevada and into Arizona. The scenery was too good to pass up, so made a few pitstops on the side of the road for some shots. I’m no model, but Marisel took [more than] a few of me.

Next stop, Utah and Colorado.

A short trip, but well worth it.

Behind the Scenes | 2015

Each year we like to look back at some behind the scene moments from our busy season. Usually we are testing the light on one another.

And some of the time one of us is just in the other’s way *cough*Daniel*cough*Or hanging a wedding dress. Or helping brides with their dress (*Side note– Daniel sometimes brings 2 or 3 changes of clothes for outdoor weddings)

Working with your spouse is both fun and challenging. Glad we can document more of the fun along the way!

32 weddings and a tiny house later, we made it! We are looking forward to a slower 2016 and continuing to book weddings that make our heart sing. I said it once, and I’ll say it again– thank you to those that have loved us, been patient with us, and trusted us to document their love as authentically as possible. Best of 2015 | Part I

2015 was our busiest and happiest year to date. So much so, that we had to split our “Best of” post into two parts haha. Part one consists of the portrait sessions we shot, and part two is the weddings we documented. 2015 was filled with blessings and growth and decisions that will impact our future. The Frey’s be Trippin’ | Christmas in Chicago

This is the third edition of our travels for 2015. Our first was on a cruise to the Bahamas, our second was to Puerto Rico to second shoot a wedding, and last week we spent an extended weekend in Elgin, Illinois to visit Daniel’s parents. This was our first Christmas out of town, and it was so enjoyable not having to run around from house to house. Instead, we relaxed and took a grand tour of the city Daniel’s parents now call home. The day after Christmas we went to Chicago to explore the city. I shot from the hip mostly to not seem too “touristy” and was quite surprised with some of the results.
